We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to assist us throughout our visit. The location of this place is fantastic, nestled among the quiet streets of the Gion district. It is just a short walk away from amazing temples, bars, and restaurants. The convenience of being close to trains made exploring the city a breeze. In addition, the room amenities were top-notch, with air conditioning, a sitting area, and an in-room safe. The free toiletries and electric kettle were a nice touch, and the room also had a television with a flat-screen TV. this place helped make our trip unforgettable.
In short, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay.

I recently had a fantastic stay at a charming hotel in the heart of a traditional Japanese district. The hotel's attention to detail and modern Japanese style really stood out. The rooms were comfortable and had a lovely touch of Japanese design, with nice amenities and a view of the quiet streets of Gion. Not to mention, the hotel's location within this historic neighborhood made exploring the area a breeze. It was a truly immersive experience.
The only minor issue I encountered was that the pillows were a bit too soft for my liking, but other than that, everything else was perfect.

This hotel in the heart of Gion, Kyoto's historic district, exceeded my expectations in so many ways. the attention to detail throughout the hotel was impeccable. From the artwork in the hallway, carefully selected by the owner, to the modern Japanese design in the lobby and rooms, every aspect was thoughtfully curated. The tatami mats in the rooms added an authentic touch, and the low mattresses provided a unique and comfortable sleeping experience. Additionally, the staff went above and beyond with their exceptional service. They spoke both English and Japanese fluently, and their recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing locations were spot on. The breakfast was another highlight, with a delicious Japanese obento box made with local organic vegetables. I also appreciated the small buffet with a variety of options to choose from. this hotel was a true gem in terms of value, location, and the lovely touch of modern Japanese style throughout.
All was perfect during my stay at this hotel.

We chose this hotel for its modern Japanese design and were happy to find a contemporary room with a great view. The hotel is located in a prime spot for exploring the city, with easy access to many popular attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing us with excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities nearby. We also appreciated the free smartphone that came with the room, making it easy to stay connected while out and about.
Our experience was marred by the lack of variety in the breakfast options. As a couple celebrating our anniversary, we were hoping for a more romantic or indulgent start to our day, but were disappointed by the limited selection of dishes available.

Best aspects of our Xmas stay were the friendly and accommodating staff. They were responsive to our questions and even surprised my husband with a little treat for his birthday. We also enjoyed the traditional yet modern atmosphere of the hotel. The free sake tasting was a fun experience and the staff were informative and entertaining. The location was great, with a 24-hour coin laundry nearby and a convenience store right across the street. The breakfast options were varied, with both Japanese and "western" style options available.
The pillows were too soft and didn't provide enough support for our necks, which left us feeling sore. the bathroom amenities could have been better, especially the lack of a magnifying mirror.
